Helping Teens Build a Healthy Relationship with Money
Bayu was started with one clear purpose: give Malaysian young people the money knowledge they deserve — well before they need it in adult life.
Back to HomeWhere Bayu Comes From
The name Bayu means breeze in Malay — something gentle, steady, and present. That reflects how we approach financial education: not as a heavy topic, but as a natural part of growing up that every young person deserves to understand.
Bayu was established in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of educators and youth programme facilitators who noticed a consistent gap: teens were leaving school without a working understanding of money. They could solve equations, but had never thought through how a ringgit moves, how saving accumulates, or how everyday spending decisions compound over time.
So we built something tailored for the 13–17 age group — programmes that respect where teens actually are in life, using examples they recognise, challenges that feel relevant, and a pace that doesn't overwhelm.
Our centre at Mid Valley Megamall puts us at the heart of the Klang Valley, accessible to families from across greater Kuala Lumpur. Every intake is kept small, and every session is run with the understanding that this is general educational content — not regulated financial advice.
Our Mission
To make foundational money knowledge accessible, enjoyable, and relevant for every Malaysian teen — regardless of their background or prior exposure to the topic.
Our Vision
A generation of Malaysian young adults who enter adulthood with the confidence to manage their everyday money — thoughtfully, calmly, and on their own terms.
Our Values
Honesty, age-appropriateness, and a genuine respect for young people. We never overstate what our programmes can do — we offer education, not outcomes.
The Bayu Team
A small, dedicated group with backgrounds in education, youth work, and public financial literacy.

Lead Facilitator

Siti Yusrina
Family Liaison & Enrolment
Siti is the first point of contact for families — managing enrolment, consent processes, and making sure parents feel informed throughout their teen's programme.
How We Keep Things Right
Our programmes are built around clear practices that protect participants, maintain quality, and keep families informed.
Parental Consent Process
Every participant under 18 requires written parental or guardian consent before joining any session. We keep consent records on file throughout enrolment.
Curriculum Review Cycle
Session content is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure it stays relevant to the everyday financial context young people in Malaysia actually encounter.
Facilitator Standards
All facilitators complete an internal orientation covering safe communication with minors, age-appropriate language, and content delivery guidelines before leading any session.
Data Privacy
Personal information collected during enrolment is used only for programme delivery and communication. We follow Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in how we handle all data.
Feedback & Improvement
We ask participants and parents for feedback at the end of every programme cohort. Responses directly inform how sessions are refined for the next intake.
Education — Not Financial Advice
Bayu is a general financial education provider. None of our content constitutes regulated financial advice, investment guidance, or personal financial planning of any kind.
Teen Financial Education in Kuala Lumpur
Bayu operates from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, making structured financial education available to teens across the Klang Valley. Our three programmes — a workshop, a five-week programme, and a ten-week course — each address a different depth of engagement, from a first look at allowances and saving through to budgeting and understanding everyday money tools.
We work with Malaysian teens who are at the stage where money starts to matter in real life: part-time earnings, managing a monthly allowance, peer spending, and the early decisions that shape longer-term habits. Our sessions use relatable examples drawn from Malaysian daily life — transport, food, pocket money, and local retail — so the content lands as something useful, not abstract.
Families across Petaling Jaya, Bangsar, Cheras, and greater Kuala Lumpur have brought their teens through our programmes. We keep groups small, maintain a clear parental communication channel, and work only within the scope of general educational information — creating a setting where teens can ask questions about money without pressure or expectation.
